“May you live to enjoy your grandchildren…” — Psalm 128:6
I am humbled and amazed at how God showers my life richly and undeservedly with blessing. My precious daughter and son-in-law surprised me with the most wonderful news—I’m going to be a granddaddy!
The writer of this psalm of ascent really knew what a blessing was! My children have been such a blessing to my life. Now I get to witness one of them experience what I have experienced! I get to love and influence another generation! I get to relive those precious days when a little one’s laughter filled the house!
What do I think? How do I feel? There is no clearer description than is found in God’s Word in Psalm 116:12-14:
“What can I offer the Lord for all He has done for me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lord’s name for saving me. I will keep my promises to the Lord in the presence of all his people.”
His blessing spurs me on to greater faithfulness. I want to be the best granddaddy I can be for Christ! Praise God, I can’t wait!
